Top ways to make sure you have an excellent holiday

By on June 18, 2018

We’ve all had a holiday that was simply ‘meh.’ And it’s sad to spend precious time and money on a holiday that doesn’t make you feel like you’ve had a great time and returned feeling rested and relaxed. Luckily, there are a few things you can do to make sure your next holiday is excellent:

Choose your destination wisely

With so many incredible cities and countries in the world, how do you narrow down your options? Your destination will often be the determining factor when it comes to whether or not you have an epic holiday. That’s why it’s worth taking your time when you’re choosing your destination.

If you’re short on cash, or you really want to get more bang for your buck, choose Southeast Asia, Central America, or the Baltics. Your money will go a lot further in Bosnia or Budapest than Barcelona, and you’ll be able to afford a much nicer holiday in Thailand than Paris.

Consider a cruise

One of our best ways to up your holiday game? Make it a cruise. When you cruise, all of the hard work is done for you. Experts have created excellent itineraries and there are plenty of great excursions to do in each place. Not to mention, you won’t need to worry about any logistics and taking trains, buses, or planes from each place. This is also a good option if you don’t like continually putting your hand in your pocket, since cruises are almost entirely all-inclusive and you pay for your food, accommodation, entertainment, and transport in your fare.

Cruising is a low-stress way to travel since you can avoid the dreaded airports. Go on a no fly cruise and see how much more relaxed you return from your holiday compared to when you have to fly home.

Take travel insurance

You never know when calamity will strike when you’re travelling. But when it does, travel insurance has got your back. By purchasing a travel insurance policy, you’re keeping yourself covered in the event that you have an emergency. Travel emergencies can range from a lost passport or missed flight to a burst appendix or serious car accident, and having a great travel insurance company ready to step in and cover your bill, talk to your hospital and guide you through the medical terms will make all the difference.
