For those thinking about travelling to Miami, there are few destinations that have as much to offer, including great weather, excellent food, lovely beaches, outdoor activities, shopping, and more.
But one thing that Miami doesn’t have, is great public transport. And before you say you’ll take an Uber or a taxi everywhere, consider the fact that many of the best attractions are slightly outside of Miami, and there’s a good chance you’re going to want to go and visit them at some stage.
Many people assume that renting a car in Miami is going to be super expensive, but Miles Car Rental has plenty of cost-effective options for those wanting to save both time and money while they’re travelling.
If you’re planning to simply lay on the beach in Southbeach for your entire vacation, you may not need to hire a car, however one of the main reasons why so many people visit Miami is because it’s so close to so many other great places to see. Along with Fort Lauderdale, Key West, the Everglades, and the outlet malls, Orlando is just a four hour drive away, meaning if you’re bringing kids (or you just want to pretend to be a kid yourself), you can spend a few days screaming your lungs out on the rollercoasters, meeting Mickey Mouse, and drinking butterbeer in Harry Potter World.
If you were to arrange for transportation to all of these places, not only would it cost you money for the buses, but you’d be continually waiting around to be picked up and dropped off (and there’s always that one person who makes everyone else on the bus wait for them), meaning you would be wasting a huge amount of time.
It can be easy to assume that taking a taxi or even booking an Uber will save you money compared to renting a car, however this simply isn’t the case. Just one trip per day would be around the same price as the daily rate to have a car at your disposal whenever you want, giving you the freedom to spend your time however you like.
If you’re bringing the kids, it’s even more important that you have a hire car. You’ll be able to grab the car as soon as you land, load up all the kids and all the luggage, and head straight to your hotel so you can unpack and relax before getting out and exploring Miami. Compare this to getting a hotel shuttle, which will often still cost you money, and will mean waiting for other people to get to the shuttle, and dropping a bunch of other people off at their hotels before you get to yours. This is the same for when you head back to the airport, and you’ll usually have to leave much earlier since it will take so much longer to get there.
