3 Reasons to Visit the Isle of Wight
By Simon Duncan on July 26, 2017
I’m so happy it’s summer, which means lots of time dedicated to planning trips away. If you’re based in London, chances are you’re looking for a destination that’s not too far away, but feels like you’re somewhere completely different? Perhaps you should consider the Isle of Wight, located only 2 hours from London, it packs the holiday feel without spending hours or days on planes. There’s a few great reasons why Isle of Wight could be your perfect holiday destination, so read on to learn more!
1. There’s So Much to Do
Once you’ve sorted out your accommodation – I personally suggest checking out Blue Chip Holidays if you’re looking to find affordable accommodation that’s comfortable, such as holiday cottages. You’ll be completely spoiled for choice for activities to do on the Isle of Wight and the best part is that it’s a very family focused destination, which will be a relief to many parents. Little kids will be delighted by Blackgang Chine which is the UK’s oldest theme park. There’s different themed areas for kids, such as dinosaurs, fairies and even life-size pirate ships. There’s a beach here that is lined with shops, cafes and kiosks, meaning that parents can enjoy a refreshing drink while the children build sandcastles. In addition, there’s a bunch of outdoor activities such as climbing and kayaking that are sure to delight everyone in the family. This is a beach destination where you wont be bored and every day will feel like a new adventure.
2. Lower Cost
If you’re based in England, you wont have to shell out for flights, which will help you keep your holiday costs down. It will mean more money for fun activities or special family dinners. Traveling long distance can be a right pain, considering the inflated costs of meals in airports and the expense of getting around when you arrive in a new destination. The Isle of Wight feels like a fair away destination – a world apart from London – without the big flight price tag.
3. Easy to Get There
Personally I love any adventure where I can go in a road trip. If you’re traveling with kids, it’s just way easier. You can pack a bunch of their toys to keep them entertained on the way there and when you have down time in your holiday cottage. You can stop whenever you want, have bathroom breaks whenever you need to and pop into a shop for a drink or snack. It’s just so much easier! With the Isle of Wight being such an easy drive to London, you could even consider visiting for a weekend trip away.
Planning a holiday can be stressful as it’s often hard to please the whole family, but with a family holiday to the Isle of Wight you’re sure to delight each and every family member.
